Description

For sale is a lot of 22 (twenty-two) Sotion brand security/baby monitor/etc cams. 14 of the units are 720p and 8 units are 1080p. They are about 5-7 years old as I bought them over a period of time starting around 2015. The company (Sotion) made an app for it when new (Sotion app) but the app broke or something so they made a new one (Keekoon). It's on the Apple App store (not sure about Android). Anyway, while it is helpful to have the app to set it up, you don't _need_ the app at all to use them. They seem to be fairly open source. They actually come with an ethernet connection, mainly for setting them up, but in theory they can be used with the ethernet full time (although not PoE, you still have to use the power cord). You can of course set it up without the ethernet. So you can connect it to your network with ethernet, find the IP using common camera locators (or your gateway's DHCP info), then connect to it on port 81 and set it up there (network->wifi) to put it on your wif network. Or, if you use the Keekoon app (see photos) it is also quite easy, they come in factory mode with their own wifi network. Connect to that on your phone, then open the app and scan the QR code on the bottom of each cam. It then loads the camera in the app, then follow instructions in the photos to get it on your wireless network. Once set up you can use it with the Keekoon app or with a wide variety of open source cam apps that will also "find" these cameras on a network. The web interface for configuring them (camera ip, port 81, log in with "admin" and no password) is fairly powerful. They support multiuser with different permissions as well as 3 streams at different resolutions and internal VPN which is how the Keekoon app works to allow you to access them anywhere in the world. I assume the same could be used with a third party app although I don't know how to set that up. Anyway, the point is, they are not proprietary and so can be repurposed for a number of different applications so just because Sotion doesn't make them anymore doesn't mean they are not without utility. The only reason I'm selling them is I transitioned to Tp-Link's line of cams years ago as I just like their software better. Most of the units are in excellent condition cosmetically although a handful are rather dirty as I used them while building our house so they get construction debris on them etc, but they all work just fine. I used some of the wall mounts already so there are not 22 wall mounts. The wall mounts have different screws so there 5 for the 8 1080p units and 12 out oof 14 for the 720p units (see photos). Also includes a smattering of the original documents (wherever they refer to the Sotion app just substitute that for the Keekoon app). Let me know if any questions. I prefer to sell all 22 as a single lot just to get them all out of here at once, but I might entertain a lower purchase qty... maybe, just ask.
